Abstract: This work proposed a skyscraper (SS) PV array reconfiguration arrangement for 4\times 4 TCT array to distribute partial shading conditions (PSCs) and improve the performance using Matlab-Simulink. In this method, the physical location of PV modules in the TCT array is rearranged according to the skyscraper style without modifying electrical connections. In order to investigate the performance of the proposed method, various other existing PV array interconnection schemes have been compared in different shading conditions. Further, the global maximum power point, fill-factor, and efficiency parameters are obtained to assess the performance of each array. The outcome of the paper shows that, relative to other PV arrays under shading conditions, the proposed skyscraper method increases the maximum power. © 2020 IEEE.
